Accessibility
We support people with disabilities. It would be strange if our own website did not work for them, so accessibility is treated as part of the build rather than an afterthought.
What we have done
- Text and background colours are checked for contrast, and our brand green is used as a fill colour rather than as text on light backgrounds
- Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
- Animation is kept minimal and switches off entirely for visitors whose device requests reduced motion
- Images carry descriptive alternative text, and the service area map is readable by screen readers county by county
- Forms use real labels rather than placeholder text standing in for labels
Where we are still working
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is never quite finished, and some third-party components on this site are still being reviewed.
